Tall and strongly built left winger Charles Satterthwaite made his Liverpool debut on December 16, 1899 for an away fixture at Nottingham Forest.

<p>He then scored a hat-trick on only his second appearance for the club, against Glossop FC at Anfield.</p><p>Satterthwaite played 21 games and scored five goals in the 1900-01 championship-winning season and was selected for the opening two First Division fixtures of the 1901-02 campaign.</p><p>But he lost his place and played on only four more occasions for the club's first team.</p>
