Merseyside-born wing-half Bryan Williams arrived at Anfield from South Liverpool but struggled to make an impact.

<p>His Reds debut came in March 1949, almost four years after he had turned professional with the club, but he would only add eight more appearances by the conclusion of 1950-51.</p><p>Williams clocked up 11 league appearances in each of 1951-52 and 1952-53, plus three FA Cup outings.</p><p>He moved to Crewe Alexandra in May 1954 and was a regular in their side for a number of seasons.</p>
