Centre-half Billy McDevitt played in four First Division matches for Liverpool during the first half of the 1920s.

<p>Three of those appearances came in the 1923-24 season and he played just once more during the following campaign, in a 4-1 home win over Sheffield United on October 18, 1924, when all four of the Reds' goals were scored by Dick Forshaw.</p><p>McDevitt joined Exeter in 1925 and became the Grecians' manager from 1929 to 1935.</p>
