    Centre-half Billy McDevitt played in four First Division matches for Liverpool during the first half of the 1920s.

    Three of those appearances came in the 1923-24 season and he played just once more during the following campaign, in a 4-1 home win over Sheffield United on October 18, 1924, when all four of the Reds' goals were scored by Dick Forshaw.

    McDevitt joined Exeter in 1925 and became the Grecians' manager from 1929 to 1935.
