Scottish-born left-back Billy Dunlop first appeared in Liverpool's team towards the end of the 1894-95 season.

<p>It was only the club's second campaign as a Football League club and one in which they were immediately relegated to the Second Division after winning promotion the previous year.</p><p>Although his appearances over the next three seasons were sporadic, Dunlop was to become a regular in the side for the next decade.</p><p>And he was a prominent member of the squad that won Liverpool's maiden Division One title in 1901, a feat repeated five years later.</p>
