A lively forward by trade, Bill Salisbury was at Liverpool for a single season towards the end of the 1920s.

He was brought in to the team for the trip to Arsenal on October 27, 1928 but didn't figure on the scoresheet in a 4-4 draw.

However, he had more fortune in his second away match for the club, when his second-half strike was the only goal of the game at Portsmouth.

Salisbury's only other goal in the 16 First Division games he played for Liverpool came in the 8-0 trouncing of Burnley at Anfield on Boxing Day 1928.

He also scored in the only FA Cup tie he was selected for, a third-round win at Bristol City.
