A lively forward by trade, Bill Salisbury was at Liverpool for a single season towards the end of the 1920s.

<p>He was brought in to the team for the trip to Arsenal on October 27, 1928 but didn't figure on the scoresheet in a 4-4 draw.</p><p>However, he had more fortune in his second away match for the club, when his second-half strike was the only goal of the game at Portsmouth.</p><p>Salisbury's only other goal in the 16 First Division games he played for Liverpool came in the 8-0 trouncing of Burnley at Anfield on Boxing Day 1928.</p><p>He also scored in the only FA Cup tie he was selected for, a third-round win at Bristol City.</p>
