Past playersBill Cockburn
Years: 1924-1926
Appearances: 67
Bill Cockburn played in 63 league matches for Liverpool, plus another four in the FA Cup, during the middle of the 1920s.
The defender made his debut covering for centre-half Walter Wadsworth in successive matches against Bury and Nottingham Forest early in the 1924-25 season. But it was as a replacement for right-half Jock McNab that he made the majority of his 18 league appearances that year.
Cockburn missed only six of the 42 First Division fixtures during the 1925-26 season but that was his only full campaign as a first-team regular.
After figuring in the first eight matches of 1926-27 he was replaced by David Pratt, and his appearance against West Ham United at Anfield seven days before Christmas in 1926 was his last for the club.
