Past playersBen Dabbs
Years: 1933-1937
Appearances: 56
Defender Ben Dabbs made more than 50 appearances for Liverpool during the mid-1930s.
Signed from Oakengates Town, he was part of the starting line-up for the opening day of the 1933-34 season but that appearance at Wolverhampton Wanderers was Dabbs' only one of the league campaign.
He then had to wait until April 1935 before being selected again, when he played in consecutive matches against Chelsea (home) and Stoke City (away).
It wasn't until the 1936-37 season that he received an extended run in the side, figuring in 32 of the last 36 matches after being left out of the first six.
He played in six consecutive First Division games early in the 1937-38 season but his appearance in the home derby with Everton on October 2, 1937 proved to be his last.
