Barry Wilkinson was born in the north east of England and joined Liverpool from amateur side Bishop Auckland.

<p>He played 18 times in the First Division, mostly as a half-back, during the second half of the 1953-54 season as the Reds were relegated to the Second Division.</p><p>Wilkinson stayed at Anfield for several seasons and featured 14 times across his final campaign with the club, 1959-60.</p><p>He subsequently left to join Bangor City.</p>
