Tall and powerful winger Archie Rawlings joined 1922 and 1923 champions Liverpool in March 1924, after playing 147 games in four years for struggling First Division team Preston North End.

<p>He made his Reds debut in a 0-0 draw versus Blackburn Rovers on March 15, the first of 11 consecutive games he was picked for until the end of the season.</p><p>A year later, Rawlings only missed two matches and contributed seven useful goals from his wide position as the club improved their league standing by eight places from 12th.</p><p>After playing in 10 of the opening 11 games of 1925-26, Rawlings lost his place to Cyril Oxley and only figured twice in the second half of the season, his final first-team selection coming at Bury on April 10, 1926.</p>
