Aly Cissokho bolstered Brendan Rodgers' defensive options when he signed up for a season-long loan spell with Liverpool in August 2013.

The Frenchman joined on a temporary basis from Spanish side Valencia, having previously represented Porto and Lyon.

Comfortable at left-back and with the ability to be positioned further forward, Cissokho made a first appearance for the Reds as a substitute at Aston Villa.

He was used sparingly initially, but injuries to full-backs Jose Enrique and Glen Johnson presented an opportunity for an extended run in Rodgers' XI at the turn of the year.

Notably, Cissokho was part of the memorable Anfield victories over Everton and Arsenal, 4-0 and 5-1 respectively.

His last game of the season arrived on the final day, entering the action at half-time as runners-up Liverpool recovered from a deficit to beat Newcastle United 2-1.

In total, Cissokho made 19 appearances for the Reds.
