Right winger Alex Muir signed for Liverpool in July 1947 when he was 23 years old.

<p>His stay at Anfield would be only a brief one.</p><p>He had to wait until February 1948 to make his debut as the club defended the First Division championship they had won in such dramatic style the previous May.</p><p>Muir played four times in the league, games which resulted in three defeats and just a single victory - at Blackburn Rovers on April 10, 1948.</p>
