Merseyside-born inside-forward Alan Banks made his debut for Liverpool a few days short of his 20th birthday.
It would prove to be a dream start too as he scored the Reds' third goal in a convincing 5-0 victory against Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield in September 1958.
However, established players like Alan A'Court and Jimmy Harrower were ahead of him in the pecking order and he made just two more appearances that season, scoring one more goal.
Although he would only feature another five times towards the end of the 1960-61 season, Banks enjoyed a good strike-rate for the Reds, notching another four goals.
That brief hot streak was as good as it got during his time with Liverpool and he left soon after, going on to score more than 200 goals in the lower leagues with Exeter and Cambridge.
