Adam Bogdan sealed a a free transfer to Liverpool in July 2015 after eight years with Bolton Wanderers.
His journey to Anfield began with Vasas in his homeland but it was a loan spell with Vecses that propelled him into the Hungary U21 setup.
That international exposure led to interest from abroad and, at the age of 19, he was snapped up by Bolton on a two-year deal.
By that point, the young shot-stopper had made very few professional appearances, and he initially failed to dislodge the more experienced Jussi Jaaskelainen.
His first outing in English football in fact came for Crewe Alexandra against Bury during a one-month loan stint at Gresty Road in September 2009.
Bogdan was then given his chance back at Bolton, debuting for the club in a League Cup meeting with Southampton.
Further opportunities followed, as a suspension for Jaaskelainen allowed his back-up to play three league fixtures in 2010-11, while he also retained a starting spot in the cups.
That summer saw Bogdan make his senior international bow, as he kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 win for Hungary over Luxembourg.
Back at club level, the 2011-12 campaign started in much the same vein, with Adam serving as a reserve and getting run-outs in both the FA Cup and League Cup.
But when Jaaskelainen was sidelined in January with a thigh strain, manager Owen Coyle handed the gloves to his deputy.
And he showed enough to keep hold of his place in the team even when Jaaskelainen returned to fitness, and was soon established as the club's No.1.
Bogdan held that position in general, though injuries to his hand and ankle resulted in lengthy lay-offs throughout 2014-15.
The latter problem was picked up in the immediate aftermath of a stunning performance at Anfield that earned Bolton a 0-0 draw in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Andy Lonergan was subsequently drafted in for the replay, as Bogdan missed out on the chance to take on the Reds again.
But he had done enough first time around to catch th eye, leading to his move to Merseyside in the summer of 2015.
Bogdan made six appearances for Liverpool during his debut season before being loaned to Wigan Athletic in July 2016; however, a knee injury cut short his stint with the Latics and he returned to Melwood before the end of the year to begin a rehabilitation programme.
In July 2018 it was announced that Bogdan would be spending the 2018-19 season on loan at Scottish Premiership side Hibernian.
