Leicester City ace Demarai Gray reportedly wants assurances over his chances of regular playing time, with Liverpool and Tottenham ready to pounce.

The 21-year-old impressed at Birmingham City prior to his move to the Foxes, while he also grabbed attention at the U21 European Championship this summer with a string of impressive performances.

However, he hasn’t been able to hold down a regular spot in the starting line-up for Leicester, and that could now prove problematic for the club moving forward.

According to The Mirror, he wants assurances over his chances of playing regularly next season with both Liverpool and Tottenham keen to swoop if he is available, with Gray making just nine Premier League starts last season while coming off the bench 21 times.

That will undoubtedly be a frustrating situation for the youngster as he would have joined Leicester hoping that they could help improve and develop his game.

It’s questionable as to how a move to either Liverpool or Tottenham would help him though, as there is arguably even more and stiffer competition for places at those two giants, and so perhaps that isn’t the answer either.

Nevertheless, it’s added that the interest is there, and with Gray not having a release clause in his contract with the Foxes, it could put them in a tricky situation this summer.

There could be a ray of hope for the England U21 star though, as with Riyad Mahrez reportedly wanting to leave, as noted by the Mirror, then perhaps his exit could free up a spot in the starting line-up giving Gray the perfect opportunity to stake his claim and prove himself to be a key part of the squad at the King Power Stadium.
