Liverpool will pursue a summer move for Leicester City youngster Ben Chilwell.

The Reds are keen to sign the left back, and value the 19-year-old at around £5m. It is expected, though, that the Premier League champions will demand a bigger fee for the highly-rated teenager.

Liverpool believe Chilwell, who made three first-team appearances for the Foxes this season, is open to the idea of moving to Anfield, although Arsenal are also understood to be interested in the England U20 international.

Jürgen Klopp is keen to add cover at left back this summer, and though they have drawn up a list of alternatives should they find themselves unable to agree a deal with Leicester, they have been encouraged by Chilwell’s performances during a loan spell with Huddersfield Town earlier this season.

The Milton Keynes-born defender was Leicester’s Academy player of the year last season, and made his senior debut in a League Cup tie against Hull back in October. He followed that up with two FA Cup appearances against Spurs having played eight times on loan for Huddersfield in between.
