Liverpool have entered into negotiations to sign Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar in the summer transfer window, according to reports in France.

Lemar has scored five goals in 18 appearances for Monaco since making his debut for the Ligue 1 outfit in 2015 but the 20-year-old is now being heavily linked with a move to Anfield.

L’Equipe say the Reds have made an official enquiry for the youngster by contacting his representatives.

It’s understood the Merseyside outfit were interested in Lemar before he moved from Caen to Monaco last year.

Manchester City, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich are also keen on the France U21 international.
