Liverpool have entered talks with Monaco about midfielder Thomas Lemar.

The Reds were reportedly interested in singing the 20-year-old from Caen last summer, but he instead opted to remain in Ligue 1 with Monaco.

According to French newspaper L'Equipe, Liverpool haven't given up hope in signing the midfielder and have already contacted his representatives to negotiate a potential move.

Lemar, who has five goals and as many assists to his name this season, has also attracted interest from Manchester City, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich.

L'Equipe claim Monaco are only willing to sell Lemar for a fee similar to the £58.8million Manchester United paid for Anthony Martial last year.
