Liverpool will monitor Steve Mandanda’s progress this summer, writes Neil Moxley in the Sunday People.

The Marseille keeper, a target for Aston Villa boss Remi Garde, has decided to stay put at the Velodrome and run down his contract.

The Reds are in the market to strengthen their goalkeeping options.

And Mandanda, who will be available on a free, is one of those on the shortlist of the recruitment department at Anfield along with a number of other Premier League clubs.

The goalkeeper, capped 21 times by France, was also targeted by Norwich and Newcastle.

He has confirmed that he will not be on the move this month, but could be available come the summer.
