Liverpool are weighing up a transfer move for Schalke’s Max Meyer, according to reports in Germany.

Meyer is viewed as one of the most promising young attacking midfielders in European football and the 20-year-old is on the radar of a number of elite clubs.

Sport Bild say the Reds, Barcelona, AC Milan and Sevilla are all interested in the highly-rated Germany international.

However, Meyer’s contract at Schalke does not expire until 2018 so Jurgen Klopp may have to meet the youngster’s £25.5million buyout clause in order to bring him to Anfield.
