Liverpool are continuing to follow Leicester left back Ben Chilwell's progress but a deal is unlikely to be done in January as it stands.

Club scouts have been watching the teenager since he joined Huddersfield Town on loan.

Chilwell has received glowing reports from Huddersfield manager David Wagner, a friend of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

However, Liverpool are not alone with Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham also following Chilwell's progress at the John Smith's Stadium.

The England U20 international only turned 19 this month and he is expected to return to Leicester in January.

Chilwell is highly thought of by manager Claudio Ranieri but has just 18 months left on his contract and the Barclays Premier League high-flyers are hoping to extend that deal in the coming weeks.

Brighton and Derby County are keen to take him on loan once his spell at Championship rivals Huddersfield ends on January 3.
