Ilkay Gundogan is not in contract talks with Borussia Dortmund over a new deal, claims sporting director Michael Zorc.

The German international has been linked with a number of clubs including Liverpool, Arsenal and most recently Juventus.

However, Zorc has revealed the club are yet to tie him down to a new deal, with his current contract set to expire in the summer of 2017.

"Ilkay is one of our key players. We'll talk with him in due time on the future, but we still have a little time," he told Bild.

But, while the Bundesliga club clearly value his services, the 25-year-old has revealed his admiration for former boss Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool.

"They have a good team, a great coach,” he told Bild last week.

“I know that I will have to deal with the matter of my future at some point and that people expect me to make a decision.

"I want to deal with this situation in a respectful way and will sit down with the Dortmund management first and make a decision.”

Gundogan has made 22 appearances in all competitions for Dortmund this season, scoring only once in the 7-1 thrashing of Paderborn in the German Cup.
