Jürgen Klopp has informed Liverpool of his desire to bring Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen to Anfield, according to reports.

Ter Stegen, 23, had been linked with a move to Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund, but opted for Barcelona instead, where he won the 2014-15 Champions League.

According to Sport, though, Ter Stegen is unsettled at the Nou Camp, particularly because he has to share goalkeeping duties with Claudio Bravo, who plays in Barcelona’s league matches.

It’s claimed that Klopp is now trying to bring Ter Stegen to Anfield and sees the German international as the ideal addition to his squad.

A goalkeeper renowned for being comfortable on the ball, Ter Stegen would certainly fit Klopp’s style of play, although the German’s £56.7million release clause could prove prohibitive.
