Liverpool could be set to rival the likes of Real Madrid and Valencia for the signing of Lazio defensive midfielder Lucas Biglia, according to latest reports.

Although the Reds have not yet made a formal approach for the experienced Argentine, Spanish source Fichajes.net claims they are keeping an eye on his situation at the Stadio Olimpico.

Biglia is thought to be unhappy at Lazio and looking for an exit, though it would seem a switch to La Liga is his priority at the moment.

Still, Liverpool could do well to bring in this tough-tackling defensive player to strengthen their midfield, with new manager Jürgen Klopp likely to try and put his own stamp on this squad inherited from Brendan Rodgers.
