Liverpool target Keita Balde Diao is due to hold talks with Lazio president Claudio Lotito next week as he tries to resolve his future.

talkSPORT told you earlier this week that Keita had handed in a transfer request after Liverpool and Inter Milan both expressed an interest in signing the 20-year-old.

However, according to Calcio Mercato, Keita has agreed to meet with the club's president who will attempt to persuade him to stay by offering him a lucrative contract.

Brendan Rodgers is keen to land the Senegalese attacker and bolster his forward line, although the Reds are set to face stiff competition from Inter if talks between Lotito and Keita break down.

Lazio snapped up Keita in 2011 when he chose to leave the youth ranks at Barcelona to continue his footballing education in Italy.

He made his first-team debut in September 2013 and has made 30 appearances for the Serie A club, scoring six goals.
