Liverpool are keeping tabs on Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Sportiello.

The 22-year-old has impressed in Serie A this season, and according to the Daily Mail manager Brendan Rodgers is mulling over a move for him.

Rodgers wants increased competition for Simon Mignolet, who has been in terrific form over the past couple of months after a difficult start to the season.

Italian giants AC Milan and neighbours Inter have also enquired about Sportiello, with Atalanta moving to extend his contract until 2019.

Atalanta have struggled for large parts of this season, and they are currently just three points above the relegation zone.
