The midfielder heads to the League Two side to bring an end to his time at Liverpool that began at the age of nine. The Wigan-born player progressed through the ranks in the Academy set-up and was part of the squad that lifted the FA Youth Cup in 2019. Cain then made his senior debut with a start in the Emirates FA Cup fourth-round replay victory over Shrewsbury Town at Anfield back in February 2020. Having trained regularly with Jürgen Klopp's first team, he enjoyed a loan spell in 2021-22 at Newport County in the same division as his new club.
