Martin Hansen is relishing the chance to gain valuable first-team experience as he begins life on loan at League Two side Bradford City.

The Denmark U21 international has moved to the Bantams for an emergency 28-day period and is now eager to show supporters what he can do.

"I'm very happy - it maybe should have happened a season earlier but hopefully I can get a lot of experience." said Hansen.

"Now its real men's football - I have to go out and perform every single weekend now.

"I'm happy because in the reserves you maybe have a game every third week and it's not the same really."

Hansen will provide competition for the club's other keeper Jon McLaughlin and would not be adverse to extending the loan should he impress.

"If it happens that I do that well and they want to extend the loan, then hopefully that happens," he said.

"Bradford is a big club with a big stadium and I'm just looking forward to having some games."

The young shot-stopper will link up with former Liverpool team-mate Robbie Threlfall, who joined the Bantams last season.
