Liverpool supporters often sing about their dream of a 'team of Carraghers' – but how would you like to actually join it?

The vice captain's 23 Foundation are looking for participants to run on their behalf after it was selected as one of the official charities to benefit from the 2011 Liverpool Marathon.

The Foundation wants 300 runners for the event and will be asking each one to raise £500 in sponsorship.

The defender's charity hopes to encourage youngsters on Merseyside using sport and football to make a difference in their community.

The Liverpool marathon makes its long-awaited return to the city following an 18 year absence on October 9 and will span 26.2 miles from Birkenhead to the finish line in front of the iconic Liver Buildings.

If you think you have what it takes to run for the 23 Foundation then please contact the Marathon Team at 23foundation@cfmerseyside.org.uk or on 0151 232 2417.
