Liverpool's No.21 played the full 90 minutes and his country now face Paraguay in the last eight on Sunday night.
Alexandre Pato and Neymar grabbed a brace apiece for Brazil.
Luis Suarez and Uruguay play their quarter-final on Saturday night against Argentina.
Tweeting after the game on his official twitter page LucasLeiva87 he said: "Thanks for all the positive messages I have received. On Sunday Brazil have another final and we need all the energy coming from you. #YNWA"
