Liverpool have announced they will travel to Hull City for a pre-season friendly on Saturday, July 23.

The fixture against the Championship side will take place at the KC Stadium and kick-off at 3pm.

Liverpool last met Hull on the final day of the 2009-10 season when the two teams played out a goalless draw in Yorkshire as the Tigers bode farewell to the Barclays Premier League after two campaigns.

Following their relegation from the top flight, Hull finished 11th in the Championship last season and set a new club record after going 17 matches unbeaten away from home.

Former Reds treble-winning midfielder Nick Barmby is part of the playing squad at the KC Stadium, while he is also a member of the coaching staff.

The friendly is one of five Liverpool have announced so far as they gear up for the new season. The others are Guangdong Sunray Cave on July 13, Malaysia XI on July 16, Valerenga on August 1 and Valencia on August 6.
