Luis Suarez has dismissed fears of burnout ahead of the Copa America - and insisted he will be fit and ready for 2011-12 with Liverpool.

The tournament is taking place in Argentina until July 24, meaning Suarez and Lucas Leiva will miss a large part of the club's pre-season preparations.

But the 24-year-old has assured supporters that there won't be any excuses when the new campaign gets underway in mid-August.

"I don't think I'll have any problems at all," Suarez told Liverpoolfc.tv. "I think when you start to get to 28 or 29 as a player, tiredness creeps in, but at my age all you want to do is play football all the time. There will be no problems me coming back in good condition."

Uruguay reached the semi-finals of last summer's World Cup only to be eliminated by Dirk Kuyt and Holland.

They are likely to provide the biggest threat to traditional favourites Brazil and Argentina this summer, and Suarez is confident.

He said: "It's an important trophy for us because it's 16 years since Uruguay actually won the Copa America. We know it's a tough tournament to win because every one of the South American countries wants to go out there and win it as well. It's a unique competition to experience because of that.

"We go there with a good World Cup record but that's the past now. What counts is the present, but certainly we go there with a lot of optimism.

"Argentina and Brazil will be battling for the title, the same as ever. Argentina are the hosts and Brazil are Brazil! But you have to throw Chile and Uruguay into the mix. That, for me, is the top four."
