Trent Alexander-Arnold feels fully fit and ready to go ahead of Liverpool's Premier League opener at Norwich City.

The right-back, who missed England’s Euro 2020 campaign due to a thigh injury sustained in June, played all of the Reds’ pre-season friendly against Athletic Club at Anfield on Sunday.

Highlights: Liverpool 1-1 Athletic Club

He considers completing the game to be a pleasing conclusion to a positive pre-season - and is now looking forward to Saturday’s trip to Carrow Road.

“Definitely,” Alexander-Arnold told Liverpoolfc.com, when asked if it felt good to get a 90-minute runout.

“I think it’s perfect timing the way the games have gone in pre-season, just building up to this: started at 30 [minutes], then 45, a couple of 60s under the belt and then today obviously getting 90.

“I think we’ve timed it well and it gives us a good couple of days to recover and then go on to Norwich next week.”

On whether he feels 100 per cent fit and fresh as the new season draws closer, the No.66 continued: “Yeah, definitely. I’ve started pre-season quite well, in training I’ve been putting the work in, got the all-clear from the medical staff early doors in pre-season and have been able to push on, get fit and get the full 90 under my belt today.”

On playing at a near-full Anfield again…

This is the moment we’ve been waiting for. Obviously last season it was very quiet in here but to have the fans back today was special for us all. We’ve all been waiting for this moment.

On Liverpool’s performance…

Obviously the first half was really good from us. We were all over them, never really gave them too many chances and won the ball back high up, which is what we wanted to do. Then second half, as expected we got a bit tired, a bit leggy, and gave them the ball back a bit too easily. But it was a decent performance, we got out of it what we needed to. Obviously the big downside was Robbo coming off injured, but other than that it was quite a pleasing performance.

On whether he had spoken to Andy Robertson post-match…

No, I haven’t seen him, to be fair, but I think you know it’s going to be quite bad if Robbo has to come off. It’s not something that he normally does so it’s disappointing to see, but I’m sure he will bounce back as soon as he can.

On Owen Beck’s performance after the youngster came on in place of Robertson…

Yeah [he played well], he’s showed signs of that in the whole pre-season, really. He’s impressed a lot of us with the way he is. He’s still growing, he’s still maturing as a lad, he’s got a lot to learn but the signs are there that he’s going to be a top player. He’s obviously got Robbo and Kostas ahead of him - hopefully being in and around them he’ll be able to pick up things and learn from them. Today he got the opportunity and took it.
