Liverpool will assess Diogo Jota's readiness to feature at Sheffield United this weekend, while Fabinho and James Milner are set to return to team training on Saturday.

Jota has been sidelined with a knee injury since December but joined the squad in sessions at the AXA Training Centre this week, where he looked ‘really promising’ according to Jürgen Klopp.

The manager and his staff will therefore ‘see what we can do’ regarding the Portugal international being involved in Sunday evening’s Premier League clash with the Blades.

“Diogo trained now twice with the team, looks very good – very good. But [he] was out long term so we have to see what we can do with that. But in training he looks really promising,” said Klopp at his pre-match press conference.

On Fabinho and Milner, he added: “Fab was not yet with the team. That can happen tomorrow, if I’m 100 per cent right, he has his first session with the team. And same for James Milner.

“That’s it, all the others are long term.”
