Mohamed Salah insists he can't wait to take on unbeaten Manchester City on Sunday, declaring the heavyweight fixture 'the kind of game I love'.

The Reds are out to inflict a first Premier League defeat of the season upon the runaway leaders when they come to Anfield this weekend.

But Salah has no fears over facing the division's top team; instead, he is excited for him and his teammates to prove what they can do.

He told Liverpoolfc.com: "It's the kind of game I love and for the fans it's something different.

"Us and Man City are both playing great football, so it will be a perfect game and I'm very excited.

"I'm sure we can have a good result. They play fantastic football but, for me, I just think about my team.

"We will see on Sunday."

Liverpool have avoided defeat in their 16 outings at Anfield so far this season, winning 10 and drawing six of those fixtures.

And Salah believes the Reds' passionate home support can inspire another big performance against Pep Guardiola's side.

"I love to play here in Anfield, playing at home with a fantastic atmosphere," he added.

"We try to play each away game like [it's at] home - the most important thing is to win the game - but at home we feel more confidence with the support from the fans.

"It makes it like [we have] 12 players."
