Mane nominated for Champions League Goal of the Week
Sadio Mane's sumptuous volley against Spartak Moscow has been nominated for the Champions League Goal of the Week award.
The Liverpool forward smacked home his team’s fourth strike in a 7-0 success at Anfield, meeting James Milner’s cross from the left with an unstoppable hit beyond the goalkeeper.
And the quality of the effort has put Mane in contention for an accolade marking the best goal of the final round of matches in the competition’s group stage.
The Senegal international joins Cristiano Ronaldo, Bernard, Federico Bernardeschi and Heung-Min Son on the shortlist for the award.
