Sadio Mane has confirmed he is feeling fit and fresh and is looking forward to taking on Spartak Moscow at Anfield tomorrow if selected by Jürgen Klopp.

The Senegalese remained on the bench throughout the Reds' last fixture - a 5-1 Premier League away victory over Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

But the winger has now confirmed that his absence from the action was not due to injury, and he is ready to return after feeling the benefits of his manager's approach to keeping players fit during a busy period.

He told Liverpoolfc.com: "I'm fresh now and I'm looking forward to the game. [There was] no injury - we're a strong team and a big club and it's normal [to rotate].

"We are a great team with many good players so it's working well and everybody is happy because we are winning."

Are you a little frustrated not starting games?

Honestly, each player in the world would love to play every single game. But also, we are Liverpool, we are a big team with good players, so we have to accept the decision of the coach. Also [you have to] respect your teammates and the club as well because we are doing great, which is the most important thing. Always, the team [comes] first.

Is this the best squad you've been part of?

Yes, of course. We have great players and every single game we are improving. That's why we are working hard every single day in training and hopefully we are going to keep going.

Looking further ahead, how much do you want to be a part of the Merseyside derby?

Every single game in the season is important because we have to win. But at the moment it's too early to speak about the derby, we've got to concentrate on tomorrow's game and do our best to win the game.

Is this the biggest game of the season?

One of the biggest games for us. I think it is an exciting game and very important for us. We have a great team and, [although] we know it'll be a tough game, we can beat any team in the world. We're going to try and do our best to win the game tomorrow.

Mo Salah has scored a lot of goals this season - should you and your teammates score more?

I am happy for Mo because he is doing well, he is a very important player for us and I'm happy for him to score. We're going to try to help him to score more goals and also for us to make assists and score more goals [ourselves].

Do you get get involved in practising free-kicks with Philippe Coutinho?

Philippe is one of the best players in the world and his free-kicks are amazing. I always try to learn from him but I think he doesn’t want to teach me! He is always practising and that's why it's easy for him to score in the games.

Is it really important to top the group?

Honestly for us, it will be very important. It is possible so we are going to try and do it tomorrow.

How big a part can the fans play?

I can say we have the best fans in the world, they are just amazing all the time. They play a big part – a big part - every single game. It is very important for us to feel them behind us all the game.

It's a while since Liverpool reached the knockout stages of the Champions League...

That's not so important for us. Tomorrow’s game, we have a [chance] to be top of the group and I think we can do it. We will do our best and even if it will be a very hard game for us it is possible.
