Jordan Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Daniel Sturridge have been named in the England squad for two World Cup qualifiers next month.

The Liverpool trio are part of Gareth Southgate’s 26-man selection for the meetings with Slovenia and Lithuania in Group F.

The Three Lions need two points from the two fixtures to guarantee top spot in the section and with it their place at the 2018 tournament in Russia.

England host Slovenia on Thursday October 5 and travel to Lithuania three days later.

Meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, on-loan Sheyi Ojo and Dominic Solanke have been called up by England U21s for European qualifiers against Scotland and Andorra.
