Daniel Sturridge is not available to feature in Saturday's Merseyside derby.

The striker was back on the Melwood pitches this week as he continues his recovery from a hip issue, but has yet to re-join the full Liverpool squad in training.

Therefore, Sturridge will play no part in the Anfield clash with Everton, confirmed Jürgen Klopp at his pre-match press conference.

“No chance,” said the manager when asked if the No.15 could be involved.

“I heard he’s back to training, I don’t know who gave this information. When a player is on the pitch with a rehab coach, that’s not back to training.

“That’s the situation in this moment. He’s in a good way, but [has] no chance for the weekend.”
