Jordan Henderson's stunning long-range strike at Stamford Bridge has been voted Liverpool's Goal of the Month for September by fans.

The captain produced a sensational finish against Chelsea, which proved to be the winner in the Premier League clash, when he found the top corner with a hit that dipped perfectly.

His goal amassed 71 per cent of the votes in our online poll of supporters, with a huge majority putting the midfielder far ahead of his fellow contenders for the accolade.

Philippe Coutinho claimed second place for his outstanding drive from outside the box at home to Hull City, while Roberto Firmino took third with the opener against Leicester City.

Completing the top five were two more goals in the Anfield victory over the reigning champions – Adam Lallana’s fierce blast and Sadio Mane’s dink from a Daniel Sturridge backheel.
