Jordan Henderson joined Jürgen Klopp at Old Trafford to preview Thursday's Europa League clash against Manchester United with a press conference for reporters - read on to see what the captain had to say...

On having confidence from last week's result...

It was a good night for us last week. Not only in result, but performance as well. We can take a lot of confidence from it but, at the same time, it's only halfway. We've got another big game tomorrow and a big test for us but we will be going in very confident and hopefully we can just finish the job off.

On how United will approach the game...

I'm not sure. I think we've just got to prepare on what we want to do in the game. If we focus on our gameplan then it won't really matter what Manchester United do. It's all about us and I'm sure if we're firing at all cylinders - like we were last week - [then] I don't think many teams can live with us really.

On the fans at Anfield for the first leg...

The fans were brilliant last week. I think it was a little bit different. Even in the warm-up you could sense the atmosphere building and that gave us a great boost. At the end of the day, it's down to us players to also create an atmosphere with a performance and I felt as though we did that. Playing here tomorrow, I'm sure the atmosphere will be very much the same. It will be a great atmosphere and it's games like this that you want to play in as a footballer.

On focusing on Liverpool's game...

I don't think we can worry too much about what United do. Obviously there will be stuff that we will look at and what they're good at and what they're not so good at. The main focus is on what we want to do and our energy levels will be high like always. We want to play high-intensity football and hopefully we can do that again tomorrow.

On the team having confidence and a weekend off...

Not only [from] last week, but the last few weeks we've been building momentum and building confidence. I think the performance levels have been getting better each week. Last week was obviously a big result but it's only halfway. It's another big game for us tomorrow. We've had a week to prepare for this game as well, which will really help us. I'm looking forward to it.

On ensuring there's cool heads in the dressing room...

I'm sure the lads have experienced games like this before so they don't need me to tell them it's a big game. They've played in big games. A few played in the cup final and performed very well. This is another big game for us where we've just got to prepare as normal and go into the game like we have done the past few weeks.

On winning at Old Trafford as captain...

It would mean an awful lot to the team and also to the fans. It won't necessarily mean anything that I'm captain, it's just that it's more important that we win really. That's the most important thing - it doesn't matter about any individual. It matters about how we come here and perform. I'm sure if we perform like we did last week then we'll have a very good, positive outcome at the end of it and move onto the next round.

On what's needed tomorrow night...

The same intensity as we created last week at Anfield, I think that will be key. We'll prepare very well tonight here [in] training. Hopefully we can do the business and do the same as last week tomorrow.
