Yan Dhanda was on the mark as Liverpool U18s produced an impressive display to beat Lincoln City 3-1 at Sincil Bank on Thursday night.

Neil Critchley's side were playing their first game back on home soil after a successful tour of Ireland and in front of a crowd of 2,418 the young Reds turned on the style.

Liverpool had accepted the invitation from Lincoln City to play the match and raise funds for their Centre of Excellence, and before the game the home club presented Academy officials with a £250 cheque to give to the Hillsborough Families Support Group.

Centre-back Michel Parker fired the young Reds into the lead when he netted from a corner, but Leon Loftus levelled matters for the home side.

The Reds stepped it up after the break and Dhanda netted after a well worked move before Kris Owens completed the scoring with a fine strike.

Reflecting on the performance, Critchley told Liverpoolfc.com: "It was a great evening once again and Lincoln were fantastic hosts.

"It was a magnificent gesture to present the cheque which we accepted on behalf of the club.

"We scored some good goals and it was another pleasing performance."
