Liverpool lock horns with Manchester United this afternoon in an eagerly anticipated Barclays Premier League clash at Anfield. Here are all of the key facts and figures on the showdown.

Last season Liverpool beat United 1-0 at Anfield. The only goal came as early as the fourth minute with Daniel Sturridge diverting Daniel Agger's header beyond David de Gea.

Last December United won the first meeting of this campaign 3-0 at Old Trafford with goals from Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata and Robin van Persie.

Of the 45 Premier League clashes between the teams, there has only ever been one goalless draw. That was at Anfield in September 2005.

Only once in the last 18 league meetings has there been a draw. That came at Anfield in October 2011 when the game ended 1-1 with Steven Gerrard and Javier Hernandez both on target.

Mario Balotelli scored twice against United in Manchester City's 6-1 win at Old Trafford in October 2011. He has yet to score for Liverpool before the 82nd minute of a game.
