Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that striker Daniel Sturridge will be available for selection again when Liverpool travel to Queens Park Rangers after the upcoming international break.

The 25-year-old missed out once more on Saturday with a thigh injury as the Reds downed West Bromwich Albion 2-1 at Anfield to end their winless streak in the Barclays Premier League.

But Sturridge, who committed his long-term future to the club yesterday by signing a new contract, is expected to be fully fit and ready to return in a fortnight's time.

Asked after the win against the Baggies whether the No.15 was close to featuring in the match, Rodgers commented: "I was hoping he would be but he wasn't.

"But certainly from now, he'll have the course of the international break to get ready, and he'll be fine for QPR."
