Jordon Ibe headed for Derby County on loan this week with two ringing endorsements of how the Championship side can help the Liverpool man continue his development.

It was announced on Friday that the 18-year-old forward will spend the duration of this season at Pride Park - the same destination for fellow Red Andre Wisdom 12 months ago.

The latter enjoyed a hugely productive campaign with the Rams in 2013-14 as they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Barclays Premier League.

Wisdom echoed the advice of Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers, who explained to the youngster how a period with Derby could be hugely beneficial for his learning curve.

Ibe said: "[Rodgers] told me that there is a great philosophy here at Derby and that it would be a great opportunity to get involved and play the same style of football that they play at Liverpool.

"Andre told me it was good here too; he enjoyed his season at Derby, so hopefully I will do well here. I am really happy to come here and now is the time for me to just crack on.

"This is a very important season for me, I just need to knuckle down and try to get goals and assists, which I should be doing in my position. I think Derby County is a great club to come to.

"They play similar football to Liverpool in terms of the system and they like to pass the ball out from the back, so it is a great opportunity for me to get involved and hopefully do well."
