Last night brought the return of the smash-hit stage show 'The Official Story of Liverpool FC', which is back in the city for a special, three-night run of shows at the Echo Arena until Saturday August 30.

A trio of familiar Anfield faces - namely Roy Evans, Mark Wright and Ron Yeats - joined the Liverpool Ladies squad and U18s players to watch a play that documents 122 years of Reds history.

Those in attendance were also treated to a surprise as the show concluded, when Evans and Yeats took to the stage at the Echo Two venue with an official replica of the European Cup.

Written by Nicky Allt, the production uses comedy and song to travel through the timeline of one of the world's greatest clubs, taking in the highs and lows of a truly unrivalled history.

'The Official Story of Liverpool FC' earned rave reviews upon its run at the Royal Court Liverpool in March of this year, prompting Allt to bring the much-loved show back for those who missed it.
