In a revealing interview with LFCTV GO Brendan Rodgers has spoken of the qualities he feels new signing Lazar Markovic will bring to Liverpool, as well as his wonderful humility.

The Liverpool manager highlighted the Serbian's more obvious talents; his wonderful array of attacking qualities and how these gifts will benefit the team heading into the new season.

"He's super-fast. His speed will really catch the eye," said Rodgers. "He's got wonderful technical ability and he'll excite supporters.

"He's very good in one-on-one situations and he can take people on. He can go at people and be direct."

Markovic made his first appearance in a Liverpool shirt during the Reds' recent win over Olympiacos in Chicago, where, for 45 minutes, more evidence of his skills were on show:

"Tactically [he's] very good for a young player," continued the Liverpool manager.

"He's played international football, played in Serbia and Portugal - [so he's played] the game at a good level. We'll add things to that."

However, perhaps more interestingly to supporters is the subtle quality Markovic possesses - humility - as Rodgers shares via a recent anecdote; which ended with the Liverpool manager stating: "Maybe there's not too many who would do that."
