Simon Mignolet remained on the bench as Belgium finished their group with a third successive victory as they recorded a 1-0 win over South Korea on Thursday night.

The only goal of an evenly contested fixture came in the 79th minute when Jan Vertonghen fired home.

Belgium played the majority of the game with 10 men after Steven Defour was shown his marching orders for a mistimed challenge just before the break.

South Korea gave it everything they could and even hit the bar in the second half, but they just couldn't find an equaliser.

Belgium now take on Jurgen Klinsmann's USA in the last 16 of the World Cup on Tuesday.
