Daniel Sturridge showed off his extensive dancing repertoire throughout last season, but a journey to Brazil for the World Cup has introduced the Liverpool striker to some new techniques.

Each goal scored by the 24-year-old in 2013-14 prompted a display of his personal moves - which blend a lively wriggle of the arms and swing of the hips with a broad, beaming smile.

But on a visit with England to the Rocinha Sports Complex at the foot of Rio's biggest favela, Sturridge was ushered into a demonstration of the 'Capoeira', a mix of martial arts and dancing.

He said: "We used to be just like them and are here to be a part of their culture, to do the Capoeira, seeing the kids play football and having a little dance with them. It's all good and all healthy for us."
