Liverpool FC Foundation and Jamie Carragher’s 23 foundation supported a LFC Supporters Club event in the Netherlands this weekend.

Foundation community coach, Karl Carney, delivered a training session for more than 80 local school children at sv DEHMUSSCHEN in Rotterdam alongside Dutch and Belgium coaches.

The Association of Liverpool Supporters in the Netherlands (ALSIN) hosted a coaching day for local school children aged 6-15 and a five-a-side football tournament with other neighbouring supporters clubs.

This year ALSIN decided to fundraise and gift all the proceeds to Liverpool FC Foundation and 23 Foundation.

LFC supporters from Ireland, Holland, Belgium, Poland, France and Germany took part in the five-a-side football competition, which Poland won after an exciting day of football.

Liverpool legend Phil Thompson was on hand to provide encouragement to both the local youngsters in coaching and the fans taking part in the tournament. He also presented the trophy to the winning team and certificates and goodie bags to all the youngsters.

Forbes Duff, International Activity Manager at Liverpool Football Club said: "On behalf of the Foundation I would like to thank ALSIN for inviting us to attend and support their event in Rotterdam.

"It was a fantastic day and the funds raised will help us to continue to provide sporting opportunities for people of all ages across the world."

Les Wright, 23 Foundation Ambassador added: "The ALSIN Day was a massive success and the kids absolutely loved it. The hard work from Karl, Phil and ALSIN organiser Marc Steurs paid huge dividends. The 23 foundation were proud to support and benefit from the ALSIN Day, and we are looking forward to next year's event."
