Amanda Da Costa insists Liverpool Ladies are not far off returning to their best form as they eye victory over Birmingham City in the Women's Super League in Widnes on Saturday night.

Kick-off at the Select Security Stadium in Widnes is at 6.30pm BST and Matt Beard's reigning champions are hoping for a return to winning ways after two successvie goalless draws in the league.

A pre-season injury to the talented Nicole Rolser hasn't helped the cause, but Da Costa claims the team will soon be back to their very best.

"It's been a bit of a rollercoaster for us this season so far – we've had constant injuries and it's been difficult to find our flow, but it's coming," said Da Costa.

"We have a lot of veterans within our group and the leadership is top-class, so we'll continue doing what we're doing – training hard and preparing the best we can to get results.

"Having momentum going into the break and coming back in a good league position would be really big for us.

"Birmingham have done really well in the Champions League and fought really hard to put themselves in a good position in the league so they are always really hard to play against," the American said.

"They play with a lot of passion and make it hard for you to play the way you want to play. They do a good job of forcing you away from your game plan so it will be a difficult job for us but we're looking forward to the challenge."

If you want to go to the Select Security Stadium and cheer on the team, admission is £5 for adults and £2.50 for children and concessions.
